This project included complete design and construction of a modern hospital in Haiti post-earthquake. The hospital design included a medical gas production and distribution system, OR suites, radiology suite, dental suite, laboratories, a pharmacy, office and educational space, triage and waiting spaces, outpatient services, inpatient services, maternal health, and all supporting departments including a commercial kitchen, full morgue and crematory, on-site trash incineration, solar power production and a facilities warehouse. This project was built in cooperation with many stakeholders: The Haitian Ministry of Health, the International Medical Equipment Cooperative, the Boston Electrical Union, the Boston Carpenters Union, dozens of Boston construction companies, hundreds of tradesman volunteers, and many more vendors who provided discounts. During the project, Ann Marie served as an engineer, as well as the principle drafter and project manager. She also contributed to operational planning for the facility. The project necessitated procuring a large percentage of the jobs materials in the United States and shipping them directly to the site in Haiti.
